Vieques spoiled me

(Florida, USA)

I guess you could say Vieques spoiled me for the other beaches of the world.

As a child I visited Vieques almost every summer staying with my Grandparents at their house on a hill by the Fort which is now a museum. I remember waking up early in the morning so we could go to the beach and get a good spot, which we always did. It was hardly ever crowded. When I got into my teenage years I remember climbing rocks and snorkeling with my Grandfather. I love that island andmiss it dearly. The ocean was always clear, blue water. I guess you could say Vieques spoiled me for the other beaches of the world.

My favorite beach is definitely Navio.

I never went to a restaurant on that island in my life. I just remember the panaderia. BEST BREAD AND DOUGHNUTS EVER!

I stayed with my Grandparents at their house which was the white house in the hills on some of the Fort Museum postcards.

I think the worst time I ever had on the island was seeing all the hostility towards the Navy men and women while I was there. I felt bad for them.
