Both oceanfront and beach view do not have a street between the hotel / rental and the ocean or beach.

• Oceanfront - This term is typically used for buildings / lots along an ocean shore. These properties can be near, at or on the oceanfront but typically there are no other structures between the building and the seashore. Your view of the ocean is right in front of you. Oceanfront does not mean you have a beach you can use for bathing, there may not be any way to walk on the beach, it may be rocky, and it may not be safe for bathing due to the waves and rocky bottom. There can be a line of trees between the ocean and your property and you may have to walk through brush to get there.
• Beachfront - A property advertised as on the beach typically means that you can take a few steps from your accommodation and be right on the beach, a usable beach with an area to relax with a lounge chair. Beachfront typically will carry the highest price tag for the convenience of having a beach just steps away.

In Vieques, the oceanfront properties are along the north coast of the island and most are located at Bravos de Boston pass the town of Isabel Segunda. There are only a few properties that actually have a beach that's usable for swimming and snorkeling. Of course even if you can't use the beach, the sound of the waves, the salty warm air and the views are incredibly relaxing and awe inspiring.

There are only a handful of properties that are beachfront, we have listed the properties below.

If you were really set on an oceanfront / beachfront property and is either unavailable or out of your price range, don't despair. The best beaches in Vieques are on the south side of the island and there are no properties on those beaches, they can only be reached with transportation.
