unique artist.at Esperenza....

My first time in Vieques led me to an interesting carver whose name is Laurence or better known as "Creation". I was very intrigued as to what he could make out of a simple coconut..so i stayed and talked to him awhile as i watched him do his magic....and lo and behold was born a beautiful bird sitting on a hollowed out bowl...It's now sitting at my kitchen window and reminds me of beautiful Vieques.
Laurence is a very kind man and i love to support someone as kind and creative as he..so if you're looking to spend a few dollars on a "souvenir" from Puerto Rico stop by and chat to Creation and put in a request for something unique.

There aren't many crafts for sale in Esperenza, but the museum does carry some very nice local stuff. On the weekends there is a woman who sells funky clothes and jewelery on the malecon..as well as a few other vendors selling some jewelery and carvings.

Every second Saturday is the farmers market at the Museum..some very delicious baking can be had there.
