The Sun Bay Lady of the Dark

The area between Sun Bay Beach and Media Luna has long been long known for paranormal activities. I grew up there, with the sound and feel of the waves at the surf washing on my young tender feet forever imprinted in my memories. Day time there feels like you're in paradise, but that can be deceiving when darkness fall in the Caribbean.
With it's long history of slavery, sugar cane plantations, desperate human hardship enduring and suffering through hundreds of years. Growing up there I always heard stories of the light orbs seen moving at night around there in the dark. And that's all it was to me back then, just plain old stories. There's this cliff back there where in the past it was said that sick and old horses were pushed of the rocky cliff into the sea. And last, this is a story that was known mostly in the Esperanza fishing community. About an event that took place there in that same area, and that it seemed had happened many years ago. It wasn't known specifically when it did happen, since it was one of them ol'timmers story's passed down through the years and maybe it took place last century. The story goes that a women was hung dead from a tree by a men down there at the beach. I will not specify the location where it is, for my respects for the victim. And I don't want her being disturbed. But, I can tell you this, I and another person were witness one night in the dark hours to her presence there back around the early-mid part 1970's. At the time I didn't knew this had happened there. And I learned about it as a story being told to me while fishing one night years later very close to that area. Talk about a good ghost story scare ...I was ready for a good sprint down La Recta road. Due to the tragic accounts of the event it made her a part of the beach there. So if you ever decide to talk a walk down there in the beach in the middle of the night and see something human figure like, light colored floating above the sand in the dark, don't be afraid. Just know that she's a peaceful spirit and the reason why she's there, and is not to scare you. Please take her a flower as a sign of good gesture and pay her my respects. Saludos a todos, and thank you for reading.
