Stargazing in Isla de Vieques

A Magical Island by Day & Night

Before you get to Vieques, you may be wishing the sun would never go down so you can enjoy all the natural beauty all over the island; but if you look up into the sky in a moonless night, you will find yet another reason to fall in love with this magical Caribbean Island. Your imagination will run free with the beauty of the sparkly starry sky.

Stargazing - Enjoy Stargazing in Vieques Island, Puerto Rico

One of the attractions in Vieques is stargazing. The island is small and only has two small towns, light pollution is low which is the perfect condition for enjoying a sky full of bright stars. Our whole family enjoys stargazing in Vieques, it's like no place else in the world for us. Dark black cloudless skies, perfect background for fantastic show of stars. If you are quiet and listen, the stars twinkle and create a beautiful melody accompanied by the sweet serenading sounds of the Puerto Rican "coquis".

Our family picks accommodations that have very little lights in their surroundings and patio. After a fun day at the beach, we grab a blanket, lay it on the grass, and just sit back and enjoy the show. It is one of the most relaxing moments during our vacation and we look forward to it every time we go.

Stargazing Charters in Isla de Vieques, Puerto Rico

Bio Bay - Bioluminescent Bay, Vieques, Puerto Rico Photo Courtesy of Helena HumphreyThere are no official Stargazing Charters in Vieques, however Island Adventures does a fantastic job during the Bio Bay Tour going over the constellations and planets. Bio Bay tours only take place in when the Moon is not full so the conditions for stargazing are amazing. The Bio Bay tour is not to be missed if you are into stars, not only will you be able to see the stars above you, but you will be swimming with the stars and glow like they do.
