Relaxed in Vieques

It doesn't take a couple days to unwind when you visit Vieques... Almost immediately upon arrival, any lingering feelings of stress departed. It has a truly laid back feel, without the usual commercialism -- yet you still feel like you're having a luxury vacation.

Which is your favorite beach in Vieques?: There is no way to choose just one. Each one we came upon, we decided "THIS is our favorite!" We had beaches completely to ourselves at times!

Which was your favorite restaurant(s) on the island?: We were surprised at just how many GREAT restaurants there were on such a small island. Can't remember their names, but 2 in Isabella were among our favorites -- one off the main street with a cozy courtyeard, the other with balconies from which you can watch the kids riding through town to show off their horses. Also Tropical Baby in Isabella, a funky little sandwich shop with HUGE hospitality.

Where did you stay?: Evamer Villas. Good location, its own little beach, and inexpensive without sacrificing a thing!

Any negative experiences on the island?: The trash along the side of the road. It marred otherwise charming images of the town and beaches.
