Playa Caracas - Bahia del Corcho
Formerly named "Red Beach"

Playa Caracas shows off waters with varying turquoise hues and white soft coral sand. Playa Caracas is a bay so the waters are calm, great beach for children. Playa Caracas is picture perfect, very scenic with tall lush palm trees providing shade and a dreamy tropical scene.
All to yourself

A "crowded" beach scene at Playa Caracas. Great family fun.

Directions to Playa Caracas / Bahia del Corcho
On Route 997, enter through the Camp Garcia gate. Drive about 1.5 miles and you will see the sign below, make a right at the sign, keep driving and you will get to Playa Caracas (Red Beach) at the end of the road. The formal name for this beach is Playa Caracas and it was given it's name because it is right in front of Cerro Caracas (Caracas hill). Today some (mostly American residents) refer to the beach as Red Beach which is the name the Navy officers gave it.

If you keep going and pass the sign you will get to Bahia de la Chiva (Blue Beach), Playa Escondida, Playa la Plata, and Playa Pata Prieta.
