Just Magical - July 2007

by Carla
(USA)

Just returned from a three day stay at Hector's, it was magical in that it delighted both my 18 year old son and 16 year old daughter as well as myself.

The accommodations are spotlessly clean and located on a "beachcombers" stretch of ocean with spectacular views that had my teenage children getting up early just to see the beauty... It has all the extra amenities a family requires, such as a spacious high ceiling casita/room with a sitting area and seperate area for the kitchenette. The decor is very attractive and thoughtfully reflects the Island's appeal. My children especially loved the pool at night, the horses in the yard, the smart talking bird and Hector. (He taught my son how to open coconuts)

This was my second trip to the Island and I chose this location as it is the best on the island for views, trade wind breezes, accommodations and location to restaurants and the Bio Bay. It is a short walk to the Blue Horizon for gourmet meals and evening lounging, a mile ocean walk to all the restaurants in Esperanza and the Bio Bay Tour is located at the beginning of their slightly bumpy driveway.

Hector and Mary already have many raving reviews so I will just add that they are very kind and wise souls with exceptional happiness between them that they extend to others freely.

It was a hard place to leave and my daughter said she will work extra hours to earn the airfare to return to both Vieques and Hector's by the Sea this winter.

Hector's is far better than any four or five star resort I have stayed in on the Caribbean Islands, but only if you prefer beauty and culture over room service and a spa.
