Flora of Isla de Vieques, Puerto Rico

Vieques is very green and lush all around. Beautiful hillsides embraced by fragant fruit trees such as mango and bananas and a coastline beautifully landscaped by nature with tall coconut palm trees that dance to the wind.

El Flamboyan is one of the most beloved trees in Puerto Rico and you can see it almost everywhere in Puerto Rico (the main island) and around Vieques. It is truly a beautiful sight when in full bloom.

The beautiful coast of Vieques

Blues and greens form a postcard perfect image and their voices come together to make a melody as the blue ocean waves go back and forth and the palm trees dance with the wind.

Vieques Island, Puerto Rico

As you can see from the photo above, no tall buildings or crowded hillsides. When you come to Vieques you will have a chance to appreciate and enjoy the Caribbean the way nature intended it to be. But hurry, it may not stay this way for long as tourists from all over the world are learning of this beautiful sleepy island.
