Beautiful beaches
The beaches are so beautiful, and best of all no large crowds. Bioluminescent Bay is so cool at night time to actually see the water glow. If you rent a car drive thru Bravos De Boston the houses along the ocean are amazing. Also an interesting site and drive is going to the wildlife area (towards green Beach) In Puerto Diablo is the southern tip of the Bermuda Triangle. Most of all the peace and quiet from the rat race of our lives.
Which is your favorite beach in Vieques?: Caracas (Red Beach) green Beach was closed for some reason when I was there in Dec.05 Blue Beach, and El Limon for snorkeling careful there use extreme caution. On New Years eve(05) about 4pm(beaches close at 6:00)there was a little bit of a tropical rain for about 20 minutes the whole 15 people that were there left, and my wife and I had an entire beach to ourself (oh yea the kids and my mother in law)
Which was your favorite restaurant(s) on the island?: Scoops there pizza was the best, considering there was only one other pizza place. and side street bakery great bread(my mother in law knows the owner so we ate a lot of bread.
Where did you stay? I stayed at my wifes abuela's house (grandma) down the street from where the ferry comes in. We did stay one night at Martineau Bay and it was amazing great service, and of coarse the hotel's back side faces the ocean so you could hang out at the little beach area or in the pool staring out for hours at the ocean.
Was this your first time in Vieques?: No
Would you visit again?: Yes
Any negative experiences on the island?: In the summer time it gets really hot, the plaza is all torn up, so construction makes the street really dirty. My # 1 negative experience are those darn mosquitos that eat you alive no matter how much bug spray you put on.
