The water is very clear, you can see the bottom very clearly and schools of tiny little tropical fish tickling your feet. Blue Beach is very long so it is easy to find a your own spot. During your vacation in Vieques, don't leave the island without at least taking a peak at this very "BLUE" bleach. You will see so many shades of blue that it's no wonder the Navy named it "Blue Beach".
The drive to Blue Beach is part of the fun, we recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get there. Once you pass the Playa Caracas sign and head towards the Bahia de la Chiva beaches, the roads will get a little rougher. Make sure you have a spare tire in good condition, you will not always have cell phone reception either.

Blue Beach is great for snorkeling, so bring lots of suncreen to reload every few hours because you may want to spend an entire day exploring the waters and looking for friendly fish. The best spots for snorkeling are along the rocky areas.

From this spot you will be able to admire the beautiful "blue" coast and the abundant natural beauty of this island. Come to Vieques and experience the natural Caribbean. So if you are not in a hurry, drive all the way to the end, it's worth it.
During low tide you can walk around to the offshore cay, the bottom has beautiful rocks and pebbles. You will be walking along little fish and other friendly creatures nesting on the rocks.
